Yard of the Month presented by Alderman Mayfield
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Alderman T.J. Mayfield is pleased to announce that the property located at 2600 Oak Street has been selected as the March Yard of the Month recipient, recognizing exceptional dedication to neighborhood beautification and community pride.
T he Y ard of the Month program highlights residents who go abov e and bey ond in maintaining their properties,contributingtotheoverallaestheticappealandlivabilityoftheward.TheMarchawardwinner at 2600 Oak Street stood out for its meticulous landscaping, vibrant seasonal plantings, and consistent upkeep.
“Properties like 2600 Oak Street set a strong example for our community,” said Alderman Mayfield. “This recognition reflects not only the care invested in one yard, but also the broader commitment to maintaining a welcoming and attractive neighborhood for all residents. This month was extremely competitive with this property receiving 55% of the vote, or 214 of the total 386 votes.”
As part of the recognition, the property will display a Y ard of the Month sign throughout March and will be acknowledged in ward communications. Alderman Mayfield spoke with homeowner Alisha Johnson, who was happy about the honor. Alisha said the house was a blessing she received after her grandmother passed away, and she does it all for her children.
Alderman Mayfield encourages all residents to participate in the program by maintaining and enhancing their outdoor spaces. Nominations for upcoming months can be submitted through the alderman’s office.
