810 Meadow Street honored as Ward 1 Yard of the month

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Alderman TJ Mayfield is proud to recognize 810 Meadow Street as the Ward 1 Yard of the Month for June.

This award celebrates residents who take special pride in their property and help boost the beauty and community spirit of Ward 1. The well-maintained landscaping and thoughtful design at 810 Meadow Street exemplify the kind of neighborhood pride that makes Ward 1 a great place to live. The winner was selected via a poll on the Vicksburg Daily News Facebook page, garnering 465 votes.

“I want to personally thank the residents of 810 Meadow Street for their dedication and hard work,” said Alderman Mayfield. “Their efforts make a real difference in our community, and they set a shining example for others to follow. Although the award is new, there has been a ton of excitement.”

The Yard of the Month recognition is part of an ongoing initiative to encourage beautification, civic pride, and neighborly engagement throughout Ward 1. Award recipients receive a congratulatory sign to display in their yard and are publicly recognized for their contributions.

Alderman Mayfield encourages all Ward 1 residents to take part in helping keep the community vibrant, clean, and welcoming for everyone. “We had a couple of nominations come in this month, but ideally, I would like several each month to highlight our neighborhoods.”

To nominate a well-cut lawn or a beautifully landscaped environment, then submit all nominations, with pictures if possible, to aldermantjmayfield@vicksburg.org.
