Vicksburg attorney Blake Teller named co-chair of state Access to Justice Commission

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg attorney Blake Teller has been appointed co-chair of the Mississippi Access to Justice Commission, a body established by the Mississippi Supreme Court to expand access to civil legal services for low-income residents.
Teller, a partner in the firm Teller, Hopson & Schrader, LLP, practices in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, real estate, banking, corporate, and governmental law. He concluded his term as president of the Mississippi Bar in July 2023 and has long been active in statewide and local legal and civic organizations.
His leadership roles include serving on the Board of Bar Commissioners, chairing the Real Property Section of the Mississippi Bar, and presiding over the Fellows of the Young Lawyers of the Mississippi Bar. He is also a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.
Locally, Teller has served as president of the United Way of West Central Mississippi Board of Directors, the Rotary Club, the YMCA Board of Directors, and the Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce. Teller is also currently the Warren County Board of Supervisors’ attorney.
A graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Teller went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University.
Chancellor Jacqueline Mask, who lives in Pontotoc County, was reappointed as co-chair. She has served as Commission co-chair since August 2016. New members appointed to the Commission include Lee County Chancery Clerk Bill Benson of Tupelo, attorney Steven Adams of Starkville, and Jackson County Court and Youth Court Judge Stacie Zorn of Ocean Springs.
The Mississippi Supreme Court created the Access to Justice Commission in 2006 to develop strategies for improving access to justice in civil matters for those unable to afford legal representation.
