Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football season came to an end after playoff loss
BAY SPRINGS, Miss. (VDN) — Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football season came to an end Friday night with a 34-26 loss to Sylva Bay Academy in the first round of the MAIS playoffs. The defeat closed the Eagles’ season with a 4-7 record under head coach Blake Purvis.
Despite the loss, PCA showed determination throughout the game. Lakelan Pecanty led the offense with 168 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and a two-point conversion. His scores came on runs of 71 and 1 yard. Myles Randle added 68 rushing yards and a touchdown as the Eagles fought to keep the game close.
On defense, Tommy Nelson led the team with 13 tackles, while Carson Hays recorded a sack and eight tackles. Schaffer Bell contributed seven tackles and an interception in the effort.
With the 2025 season complete, the Eagles will shift their focus to offseason training, while several players transition to winter and spring sports.
