Dr. Justin Turner honored with 2025 Distinguished Physician’s Award
JACKSON, Miss. (VDN) — Dr. Justin Turner, a former Vicksburg resident , has been awarded the 2025 Distinguished Physician’s Award by the Mississippi Medical and Surgical Association. Turner announced the honor on social media, where he shared a photo of himself holding the recognition plaque.
The plaque cites Turner’s “outstanding contribution to the field of medicine, academic excellence, service to the community and dedication to the Mississippi Medical and Surgical Association.”
Turner has been recognized throughout his career for leadership and service in medicine and public health. He is a graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2011.
In addition to the 2025 honor, Turner has received numerous state and national awards highlighting his impact on patient care, health equity and community engagement. His work has been recognized by medical organizations, business publications and community groups across Mississippi.
Dr. Justin Turner’s achievements include:
