SHARKEY COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — Lantony Macon, of Rolling Fork, was sentenced Monday in Sharkey County after pleading guilty to a molestation charge.

Macon entered an open plea before Judge James Chaney Jr. and was sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

According to court testimony, a 15-year-old girl — the daughter of Macon’s girlfriend — reported in 2024 that Macon had been inappropriately touching her. Investigators also found text messages indicating that Macon had offered items to the teen.

Because of the open plea and no objection from the victim, Chaney ordered that Macon serve the sentence day for day.

Assistant District Attorneys Liem Walker and Branan Southerland represented the state.
