Remembering Keith Hill Chamblin
Remembering Keith: a loving soul from Mississippi who brought joy through laughter and cherished fishing memories.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Keith Hill Chamblin passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the age of 39, in Vicksburg. He was born in Brandon, Mississippi, and lived most of his life in Monroe, Louisiana, where he grew up playing little league, fishing on Bayou Desiard and golfing at Frenchman’s Bend.
He will be remembered by his family as sweet-natured “Kebbo,” the youngest of three children, who relished making his loved ones laugh with funny movie quotes and spot-on impersonations.
Chamblin was fortunate enough to have grown up in “Sportsman’s Paradise” and fell in love with fishing from a young age at his father’s side. He loved to catch bass, brim and crappie in the cypress swamps and bayous of North Louisiana, and a variety of saltwater fish from his grandfather’s boat at Gulf Shores, Alabama.
He was born into a family of avid sports fans, which fostered in him a lifelong love of athletics of all kinds. As a boy, he was an Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboys fan. In his young adult years, he rooted for the LSU Tigers and his alma mater, the ULM Warhawks.
Chamblin graduated from Sterlington High School, where he played on the football, baseball and golf teams. He served on the golf team all through high school, and the team won the state championship in 2005 with Chamblin finishing fourth overall. Golf was a special love of his that he shared with his family and friends. He played with his father multiple times a week at Frenchman’s Bend, as the family lived right on the golf course.
He had a special giftedness in math and got his undergraduate degree in business from University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM).
In adulthood, he was known for his kind-heartedness and sense of humor. He loved fishing, music and playing guitar. He worked in the hospitality business for most of his career, where his love of people and caring nature was able to shine. He enjoyed playing pool and, a Louisiana boy through and through, relished the lively atmosphere of the casino floor.
Chamblin lived a full and vibrant life in his 39 years, and his memory will be held close in the hearts of all who experienced his kind and gregarious spirit. He will be dearly missed, but we take comfort in the belief that he is reunited with loved ones that have gone before him and that his soul knows the ultimate freedom and peace of God’s loving embrace.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Abraham Pipes, father, Keith Drummond Chamblin, brother, Jason Chamblin, stepmother, Teresa Brice, grandparents Dr. Woodie Abraham Jr., Donald Chamblin, Jeanette Abraham, Anne Galloway Pelle and Wilbur Gordan Pelle Jr., and paternal uncle, Donald Chamblin Jr., as well as his beloved dog, Bree.
Chamber is survived by his sister Virginia Archer (Josh) and nephew Benton Peak; sister, Natalie Rockett, niece and nephew Lauren and Michael Rockett; step-brother Dylan Pipes; step-father Derek Pipes; step-grandmother, Helen Abraham; maternal aunts Beverly (Jim) Montgomery, Cynthia (Mark) Sanders, and Susanna Mullen; paternal aunt Leigh (Tartt) Brown; paternal uncle Mark Chamblin, as well as many cousins.
