Stalking suspect leads police on chase, spins out, and flees on foot
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — An individual suspected of stalking a former acquaintance ran from police and led them on a chase which resulted in the person spinning out their vehicle and then fleeing the scene on foot.
According to radio traffic and police reports, an individual was reportedly seen stalking someone they knew on Alcorn Drive. That suspect was then spotted in their vehicle by police. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled east and eventually spun out on Old Jackson Road near the county line, with police in close pursuit. The individual then fled on foot and at that time, managed to avoid capture. In a request for information, the Vicksburg Police Department said:
“On June 22, 2026, officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the 100 block of Alcorn Drive regarding a reported stalking complaint.
During the course of the investigation, officers observed a vehicle believed to be associated with the suspect. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled the area, resulting in a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit ended when the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Investigators
responded to the scene and processed the vehicle. During the investigation, officers
recovered a Glock 43X 9mm handgun from inside the vehicle, which was collected as
evidence.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
