VPD nets two Port Gibson men for burglary

According to reports, on that day around 8:30 a.m., officers with VPD were dispatched to the 1200 block of Grammar Street in Vicksburg on grounds of a suspected burglary in progress.

When the officers arrived on scene, they found two Black males sitting inside a vehicle. They were later identified as Derrick Bingham, 41, and Sterling Parker, 57, both of Port Gibson.

The officers ordered Bingham and Parker out of the vehicle and the men were detained without an altercation. Upon searching the vehicle, officers located two televisions, a pressure cooker and two fans, all of which are believed to have been taken during the burglary.

Both men were taken into custody and charged with burglary. This remains an ongoing investigation and the men may be charged with addition crimes as the investigation continues.
