Remembering Thomas Lamont Flaggs

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Thomas Lamont Flaggs was born on May 28, 1977, to Wanda L. Flaggs and Thomas Mace. He peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Joliet Holiness Church in Joliet, Illinois. His faith served as an important foundation throughout his life.

Flaggs attended and graduated from the Mississippi Job Corps Center in Crystal Springs, Miss. He later answered the call to serve his country and proudly became a member of the United States Navy, demonstrating dedication, courage, and commitment through his service.

He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for the bonds he established with those closest to him. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and companionship to many.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his two beloved sons, Montero Flaggs and Christian Flaggs; his devoted mother, Wanda L. Flaggs; his father, Thomas Mace (Helen); his sister, Shelia Flaggs-Brown (Arthur); and his brothers, Flenoid Flaggs, Flawaan Flaggs, Allante Watson, Antonio Burse (Ashante), Timothy Burse, and Michael Burse.

He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him, including special friends LaRoderick McGee, Andarius Peacock, Antwan Wells, and Demetric Goings.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Grace Mae Flaggs and Fred and Sarah Mae Mace; his great-grandparents, Florence Newson, Abram Eatmon, Stanford B. Mace, and Corniel Warfield; his brother, Robert Flaggs; his uncles, Robert Flaggs, Edward Newsome, and Fred Mace; his aunt, Frances Mace; and his cousins, Antoinette Robinson and Roderick Ringo.

Though he has departed from our sight, his love, kindness, and memories will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched. The legacy he leaves behind will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends for years to come.
