70-year-old Edwards man arrested in Warren County on meth charge
A 70-year-old man from Edwards was arrested in Warren County after deputies found crystal meth in his vehicle. John Robert Knight was taken into custody following a traffic stop and is facing charges related to meth possession.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
A 70-year-old Edwards man was arrested early Monday in Warren County after deputies allegedly found several grams of crystal methamphetamine inside his vehicle.
John Robert Knight was booked into the Warren County Jail following an encounter with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office shortly after midnight.
Deputy Mitt Goza noticed a Chevrolet SUV backed into the parking lot of a hardware store on East Clay Street after business hours. Goza pulled into the parking lot and approached the vehicle, where he immediately smelled marijuana.
Knight did not have a driver’s license with him, so Goza ran his identification and discovered Knight was wanted on an outstanding indictment in Rankin County related to a methamphetamine charge.
Deputies then searched the vehicle and discovered several grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Knight was taken into custody and booked into the Warren County Jail on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
He is expected to make an initial appearance in Warren County Justice Court before Judge Walter Armstrong.
