Update: Vicksburg man charged with capital murder after answering ad for sex in Texas

New details have emerged in the case of a Vicksburg man charged with capital murder in Travis County, Texas.
Michael Robinson, 24, is accused of killing two women after responding to an online advertisement for sex, according to an arrest affidavit.
The victims were identified as Anecia Kay Thacker and Lamonica Dawn Monique Webb.
Travis County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Parkside Crossing Apartments, where they discovered Thacker and Webb inside an apartment. One woman was found near the entryway, while the other was located in the dining area.
Investigators initially considered the possibility of a murder-suicide after finding two firearms near the women at the scene.
However, the investigation later led authorities to Robinson.
Robinson says both women pointed guns at him
According to the affidavit, detectives interviewed one of Thacker’s friends, who said one of the last text messages she received from Thacker mentioned that Thacker planned to “make a play on the app.” The friend told investigators she understood the phrase to mean Thacker was soliciting sex.
Investigators located the advertisement and traced the phone number associated with the person responding to it to Robinson, according to the affidavit.
Authorities also discovered that a vehicle registered to Robinson’s grandmother had been detected by a license plate reader at a south Austin apartment complex.
Investigators conducted surveillance in the area before initiating a traffic stop involving Robinson. Robinson voluntarily agreed to give investigators a statement.
Robinson told investigators he had arranged the encounter online and paid the agreed-upon amount, according to the affidavit.
Robinson said that shortly afterward, Thacker pointed a gun at him. He told investigators he attempted to take the firearm from her, leading to a struggle during which the magazine fell to the floor.
According to Robinson’s account, he then grabbed his own handgun along with Thacker’s firearm and attempted to leave the apartment.
Robinson told investigators that Webb then approached with a gun. He said Thacker threatened to have Webb shoot him unless he returned Thacker’s firearm.
Robinson said he placed Thacker’s gun on the counter and again attempted to leave. He told investigators Thacker retrieved the firearm and pointed it at him.
Robinson then told investigators he fired multiple shots before leaving the apartment, according to the arrest affidavit.
