Williams was officially promoted to the ninth grade on Monday following the school’s graduation ceremony, where she walked alongside her classmates in celebration of their academic journey. The event, held at the VJHS gymnasium, included a special recognition of the top 10 students based on academic performance. Williams’ name was announced last, signifying her achievement as the top-ranked student in the class.

Williams has consistently made the honor roll since kindergarten and maintains a strong focus on both academics and athletics. She is a multi-sport athlete who enjoys playing basketball, softball and volleyball. Outside of school, she said she values spending time with her family the most.

Back in February, Williams was selected to participate in the 5th Annual Geeker’s Talkin’ Hoops in Da SIP Basketball Showcase, a competitive event that features standout young athletes from across the state. One of her highlight performances of the season came when she helped lead the VJHS Missy Gators to a 41–25 win over Pearl, scoring 13 points in the victory.

Though she is just entering high school, Williams already has her sights set on college. She plans to attend either Alcorn State University or Mississippi State University after graduation.
