Arrest Warrant Issued for October Vehicle Theft on Alcorn Campus

Arrest Warrant Claiborne County ASU Vehicle Theft

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department has issued an arrest warrant for a Brookhaven man, Eric Jones, Jr., relating to a stolen vehicle from October on ASU Campus.

According to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department, on October 2, 2024, a concerned parent contacted the Sheriff’s Department regarding a 2020 white Dodge Charger being stolen from the new dorm area of Alcorn State University. Another vehicle was also discovered missing. Both vehicles left the campus together at approximately 4 a.m. and were noticed missing around 6:30 a.m.

The investigation led to a collaboration with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, where one vehicle was located.

As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Tony Bussey, a Black male from Brookhaven, MS, has been arraigned and has since posted bond. Additionally, an arrest warrant has been issued for Eric Jones, Jr., also a 21-year-old Black male from Brookhaven, MS, who is still at large.

“We are urging anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts to contact the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department at 601-437-5161. Your assistance is crucial in ensuring justice is served. More arrests are expected to be made,” said the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department in a statement.
