Blake Teller appointed to the Access to Justice Commission
JACKSON, Miss. – The Access to Justice Commission has appointed former Mississippi Bar President Blake Teller of Vicksburg, Chancellor Joseph Kilgore of Philadelphia, and attorney Michael Carr of Cleveland. Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike Randolph issued the appointment order on June 27. The appointees will serve three-year terms set to end on June 30, 2027.
Teller practices law in Vicksburg at Teller, Hopson & Schrader, LLP. His practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, real estate, banking law, corporate law, and governmental law. He concluded his term as president of the Mississippi Bar in July 2023 and has been actively involved in various community organizations and bar committees.
Additionally, Hinds Chancery Judge Tiffany Grove of Raymond, and attorneys Julian Miller of Jackson, and David Haadsma of Tupelo were reappointed to the Commission. Their ongoing contributions highlight the Commission’s commitment to providing essential legal services to under-served communities in Mississippi.
The Supreme Court created the Access to Justice Commission in June 2006. The Commission develops and recommends policies, programs, and initiatives to assist the judiciary in providing civil legal services to low-income individuals.
The Commission assists these individuals through free family law clinics across the state and provides information on family law, estate issues, assistance for older people and veterans, eviction and other housing issues, immigration law, and workers’ rights via its website.
