Bond denied for Vicksburg brothers charged with the Fayette Day Festival murder

JEFFERSON County, Miss(VDN)—Two Vicksburg brothers who were arrested for their alleged role in the Fayette Day Festival murder had their initial court appearance on Tuesday in Jefferson County. Michael Ross Jr. and Devon Ross had their bail denied by Judge Marcus Walton.

The two brothers have been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Rayshaude Hudson, who was shot and killed on June 1. 20-year-old Courtez D’Henry Damper was arrested on June 16th for his alleged role in the murder as well.

Two Vicksburg brothers have been arrested and charged in their alleged connection with the Fayette Festival Mass Shooting that left one dead and several injured. United States Marshals arrested 22-year-old Michael Ross Jr. and 21-year-old Devon Ross on Monday. They have now been charged with murder.

The two were arrested at their home on Blue Creek Drive. They are being held in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting their initial court appearance.  20-year-old Courtez D’Henry Damper was arrested on June 16th for his alleged role in the murder as well.

The shooting occurred at the City of Fayette’s 200th year celebration on June 1. 22-year-old Rayshaude Hudson was killed in the shooting and six others were struck by bullets.

The annual event, held about 40 miles south of Vicksburg, drew hundreds of residents and visitors. Multiple Facebook users posted videos from the scene, one of which captured the sound of rapid gunfire as people scrambled to safety.
