Flashes take a loss to Washington School; WC falls short to Northwest Rankin

St. Aloysius boys’ and girls’ basketball team took losses to Washington School on Tuesday.

St. Al boys:

The Flashes fell short 55-45 against Washington School.

Anthony McCloud knocked down a couple of 3-pointers in the first quarter as well as going hard inside the paint to put St. Al ahead. A mixture of McCloud, Sadler Lambiotte, Laken Bradley and Korey Sims helped the Flashes take the 30-26 halftime lead.

The Flashes let their lead slip away in the second half as Washington took over things in the third quarter and eventually came out with the win.

McCloud led with 22 points and Carter Henderson finished with eight on the board. Bradley ended the night with five points and Sims scored four while Carson Gleese and Lambiotte contributed three.

The Lady Flashes took a 50-33 loss as Olivia Larsen led with 12 points. Megan Theriot put up nine and Anslee Averett contributed six. Taryn Lusby hit a 3-pointer while Maddy McSherry finished with two points and Mallory Hobson made one free throw.

WC boys:

The Vikings took a 62-37 loss to Northwest Rankin. Gaylon Turner scored 29 points and Anaias Thompson and Robert Williams both scored four points.

WC girls:

The Lady Vikes loss 60-10. Shay Hodge and Makayla Mitchell both scored points.
