Gators finished with a 67-63 win over Brandon; Missy Gators fell short in a close game

Vicksburg High School boys’ basketball team finished Tuesday night with a 67-63 win over Brandon.

At halftime the Gators trailed 29-23 as Davian Williams and Kam Bailey helped keep the game tight. Lazaveon Sylvester, Williams and Bailey kept VHS alive in the third quarter as things would soon turn around in the final quarter.

Kealon Bass and Williams both came down with some key buckets as the Gators took the lead. Jaylin Jackson also hit a major 3-pointer to help put the game away.

Williams led with 26 points and Bailey put up 12. Sylvester added 11 and Bass finished with nine. Jadarius Henderson scored four points while Jackson added three and Mincer Minor IV finished with two.

Missy Gators:

The Missy Gators fell short 46-44 as Kierra James led with 12 points and four steals. Cynia Johnson put up 10 with five blocks and five rebounds. Jordan Grace and Terri Boyd both added eight on the board while Rodrianna Hall brought in six points with five assists.

VHS will travel to play Holmes County Central on Thursday.
