Gators took down Columbus on Friday

Vicksburg High School baseball team is now on a four game winning streak after defeating Columbus 18-12 on Friday.

The Gators had a five-run lead to start the game but Columbus swooped in during the second inning and added seven runs of their own. Once VHS gained control of the game again in the third they never let their lead slip away for the remainder of the game.

Tyler Carter hit a grand slam and a triple in the win as he finished with three hits and six RBIs. Mincer Minor IV(2 RBIs), Chris Green, Kealon Bass and Patrick Gray Jr(1 RBI) all had two hits. Mickell Jones(1 RBI) and Braylon Green both had a hit while Seven West picked up an RBI.

Green and Kaleb Doss Doss both struck out five batters each in the win. VHS will host. Neshoba Central on Tuesday.
