Marquis Knight crowned 2026 Vicksburg High Prom King

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Marquis Knight has been crowned the 2026 Vicksburg High School Prom King. Knight received the honor Saturday during the school’s prom at the City Auditorium.

“That was a really good feeling because I know I made history by being the first person to win homecoming king and prom king,” Knight said.

Knight attended prom with his date, Janiyah Mazie. He was crowned by Mazie’s mother, Kaynetra Tucker.

Knight is set to graduate in May from Vicksburg High School, where he has made a positive impact. He is a member of the Gators football team and has earned All-County, All-District and All-State honors. He recently signed a football scholarship with Millsaps College.

In addition to football, Knight competes on the track team, where he has recorded two first-place finishes this season. He is the son of Harold Knight Sr. and Brittany Simpson.
