Missy Gators earned a 52-18 win over WC
The Vicksburg High School girls’ basketball team dominated with a score of 52-18 against Warren Central on Friday night.
“We came out and handled business,” Senior Kierra James said. “We communicated well and did everything we needed to do to bring home the win.”
The Missy Gators started strong in the first quarter, taking a commanding 13-6 lead with Kierra James’ 3-pointer and shots from Jordan Grace. Warren Central’s Joniya Scroggins and
Sharmaria Hodge scored inside baskets, while Ana Bridges hit a long jump shot to keep the game close.
In the second quarter, James took charge for the Missy Gators, sinking another 3-pointer along with Kenley Henderson. Makiyah Croom responded with a 3-pointer for Warren Central, and Scroggins and Perkins made free throws. However, the Missy Gators maintained their dominance and ended the first half with a 37-14 lead.
The second half was a struggle for the home team, as they couldn’t find their rhythm and failed to score. Meanwhile, Vicksburg High School easily maintained their lead and secured the victory.
James led Vicksburg High School with an impressive 19 points, and Carjessa Albert contributed eight points. Rodrianna Hall and Henley each scored six points. On the other side, Scroggins and Croom both scored four
points, while Bridges and Perkins finished with three points each.
