One dead in Flowood after officer-involved shooting

Flowood, Miss. – Officers with the Flowood Police Department received a call regarding a subject who was attempting to break into apartments near Park Circle Drive.

When officers encountered the man, they said he ran away. After officers chased the suspect, police said he pointed a gun toward the officers, and police fired at him. The man died from his injuries.

The involved officers did not receive any serious physical injury. The shooting will be investigated by agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI). This information is preliminary and
