PCA secured the district title
Porter’s Chapel Academy football team are now the district champions for the first time since 2008 after securing a 42-13 win over Prairie View Academy.
Just before halftime, the Eagles trailed 13-8 when Ty Mack broke out for a 89 yard touchdown to give PCA the lead.
Jase Jung showed out once again after rushing for 242 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. John Wyatt Massey threw two touchdowns to Jung and Thomas Azlin. He completed 8 of 13 passes for 130 yards.
Azlin finished the night with three receptions and 51 yards while Mack had 69 yards with his three catches.
Defensively, Azlin brought in 11 tackles while Conley Johnston grabbed 10 tackles and three sacks. Henry Slayton had two sacks to go with his nine tackles while Gavin Pugh and Hunter Simms both caught interceptions.
The Eagles improved to 11-0 on the year under Head Coach Blake Purvis and they now have a first-round bye week.
