Ruth Wilson Curtis, 1941-2024

Ruth Wilson Curtis passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 82.

Ruth was born in Vicksburg, MS on October 11, 1941, the daughter of Ellis Wilson and Ovie Davenport Wilson. She grew up in Utica, MS with her husband Jessie Ray Curtis, Sr. She retired from Kroger after 25 years of service. She attended Warrenton Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son Jessie Ray Curtis, Jr. also known as Flash.

She is survived by her son Steve Curtis, daughters Pam Miller (Tommy) and Caley Hubbard (Pierre), grandchildren Tommi Jo Arnold (Ethan) and Christopher Hubbard, great-grandchildren Jessa Hubbard, Logan Hubbard, Ambrose Arnold and Ophelia Arnold and great-great-grandchild Cierre Sheriff.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Utica Cemetery, followed by a graveside at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Marvin Curtis.

Pallbearers will be Pierre Sheriff, Pierre Maxie, Logan Hubbard and Josh Carson.
