Domestic leads serious injury

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and numerous deputies along with a K-9 unit from the Vicksburg Police Department are searching an area west of Hwy27 and east of China Grove, south of Gibson Road. They are looking for an individual who is a suspect in a murder out of west Texas.

His vehicle was found on China Grove earlier today. The suspect is a black male in his 20s, 6 feet and 2 inches tall who weighs about 200 pounds. You should assume him to be dangerous.

Residents in the area are asked to make sure their home and vehicles are locked and keys are secured.

“We found some items that indicate he would have been in there, in that wooded area,” said Sheriff Pace. “We are asking people in this area to be sure your doors are locked and your vehicles are locked and no keys are in the car. Don’t open your door for anybody but law enforcement. If any suspicious activity is seen call 911.”

The Sheriff is also requesting that the public avoid this area for the time being since any vehicle going through the area is being searched, potentially reducing resources that could be searching for the suspect.

Additional manpower, including more K-9 units from other agencies and night vision-equipped drones, is on the way to the search area.
