St. Aloysius launches 2025 youth softball camp with special guest Abigail Morgan
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius High School has officially kicked off its 2025 youth softball camp at Halls Ferry Park, welcoming girls in grades 1 through 6 for skill development and team-building activities.
As of Monday, 27 young athletes had signed up for the camp. Members of the St. Al varsity and junior varsity teams are actively involved, assisting the youth with drills, instruction, and encouragement throughout the week.
One of the standout guests this year is former Warren Central star and current University of Southern Mississippi pitcher Abigail Morgan. Morgan, the 2023 Vicksburg Daily News Softball Player of the Year, is lending her time and expertise to help guide the next generation of players.
“I love it because I’ve been doing lessons for about five years now, so I love helping little kids get where I am,” Morgan said.
Morgan, who played her freshman year at the University of Memphis before transferring to Southern Miss, is working with campers on the fundamentals of the game, emphasizing teamwork and proper techniques tailored to their age group.
St. Aloysius head coach Mike Foley and assistant coach Mack Foley are also leading the camp, ensuring that each participant receives hands-on instruction and support.
While the camp is already underway, registration remains open, and additional athletes are still welcome to join.
The event continues to provide a valuable opportunity for local youth to learn from experienced players and coaches while building a love for the game.
