St. Aloysius Softball Game Ends in Tie with Yazoo County

St. Aloysius softball team opened their summer season with a 1-1 tie against Yazoo County. Highlights include a strong performance from pitcher Kyleigh Cooper and key contributions from Mallory Spencer and Megan Theriot. They face Vicksburg High next.

St. Aloysius popped off their summer softball season off with a 1-1 tie with Yazoo County.

Highlights from the St. Aloysius Softball Game

The Lady Flashes struck first when Mallory Spencer singled to bring in the first run. The Lady Panthers didn’t respond until the fourth inning after a home run.

Kyleigh Cooper pitched the game for St. Al where she ended the night with eight strikeouts. Megan Theriot and Spencer(1 RBI) both had one hit.

Junior Varsity Performance

JV:

The Lady Flashes took a close 6-5 loss in their junior varsity game. Madison Connelly(1 double), Elqadi(1 double), and Addy Lyons(2 doubles) all had two hits for St. Al. Addie G. Clay hit an inside-the-park home to bring in two RBIs while Lynlee McMillan and Spencer each had one hit. Spencer struck out four batters and Madelyn Kavanaugh struck out two.

St. Aloysius will play Vicksburg High School next Tuesday.
