Third suspect arrested in connection to fatal Vicksburg armed robbery

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A third suspect has been arrested for felony possession of marijuana in the March 11 armed robbery incident that left 19-year-old Quincy Peoples dead, and two more hospitalized, according to officials.
“On March 18, 2025, Tayvion Pope was arraigned in Vicksburg Municipal Court on a felony charge of Possession of Marijuana. The judge set his bond at $15,000,” said Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones.
Before midnight on March 11, officers responded to a reported shooting near Locust and Jefferson streets. Upon arrival, they found 19-year-old Quincy Peoples suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after, E911 dispatch notified officers that two additional gunshot victims had arrived at the hospital.
A felony amount of marijuana was discovered at the scene, which ultimately lead to the the arrest of the third suspect, Pope.
The two other suspects, Tyler Terry of Clinton and Javien Shannon of Jackson, were charged with capital murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and armed robbery. Shannon was additionally charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
