Tommy Lane “Tap” Shields 1941-2023

Tommy Lane “Tap” Shields passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. He was 82 years old.

Shields was born in Louisville, MS on October 10, 1941. He loved the outdoors and going hunting. He was a good fisherman. He raised his garden. He enjoyed sitting on the porch in his rocking chair watching the cars go by. He was a small-town man with the small-town values of taking care of his family and friends.

Shields is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Shields; parents, Perry Shields and Willie Mae Ming Shields; brother, James Perry Shields.

He is survived by his brother, Charles Shields; sister, Ann Croxton; nephew, Tim Uzzle; niece, Melissa Clark and great-nephew, Logan Clark.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie McIntire, Ben Cooper, Jeff Edwards, Larry Ming, Scottie Jones and Robert Jones.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the County Line Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy McClendon officiating the service.
