VHS came out with wins over Columbus on Friday

Vicksburg High School varsity basketball team secured wins over Columbus on Friday night.

Missy Gators:

The Missy Gators won 36-32 with the help of Cynia Johnson who stepped up and scored 19 points. Rodrianna Hall added six points and Terri Boyd put up four. Jada Erwin, A. Davis and Saudi Stewart all scored two points while C. Albert hit a free throw.

Boys:

The Gators(15-3) interrupted Columbus’(15-4) four-game winning streak after pulling off a 50-47 victory.

VHS had a slow start in the first half as they trailed 23-19 at halftime. A big second half performance by Kam Bailey helped the Gators regain the lead.

Bailey ended the night with 17 points while Davian Williams brought in 14 on the night. Lazaveon Sylvester and Tyler Henderson both scored six points each while Mikey Johnson finished with four. Kealon Bass had two points in the win and Jaylin Jackson hit a free throw.

The Gators will travel to play Neshoba Central on Tuesday.
