VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg High School varsity basketball cheer team will host a Kiddie Cheer Camp later this month for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

The camp is scheduled for Jan. 12–15, 2026, and is open to elementary-aged students interested in learning the fundamentals of cheerleading. The cost to participate is $40.

According to information provided by Vicksburg High School, participants will take part in a variety of activities designed to introduce them to cheer basics and teamwork. Camp activities will include basic cheer motions, call-and-response cheers, a mini cheer dance, bonding activities, and stretch and flexibility games.

Camp participants will also have the opportunity to showcase what they learn during a halftime performance on Jan. 16, 2026, during a Vicksburg High School basketball game.

The camp will be led by members of the Vicksburg High School varsity basketball cheer squad, giving younger students a chance to learn directly from current high school cheerleaders and experience the program firsthand.

Registration for the Kiddie Cheer Camp is available through a QR code listed on the official flyer.

Parents or guardians seeking additional information about the camp may contact Coach Shalanda Harris by email at shalanda.harris@vwsd.org.
