Vicksburg Daily News presents: The Vicksburg Write-Off

Do you have a passion for Vicksburg? Whether it’s the vibrant art scene, its rich history, the challenges faced, or the victories celebrated, we want to hear your take on it! Vicksburg Daily News is excited to host the inaugural Vicksburg Write-Off for all budding writers and Vicksburg enthusiasts.

Contest Details:

• Duration: The contest is open now through Nov. 15.
• Submission: Send your articles to info@vicksburgnews.com with the subject “Write-Off”.
• Engagement: The piece with the most traction on our Facebook timeline (a combination of reactions and shares) will be crowned the winner.
• Open to all: There is no age limit to submit your work. We welcome stories from our youth as well as our more seasoned residents.

Stories will be posted to our website and Facebook timeline throughout the length of the contest.

Guidelines:

1. Focus on Vicksburg: All content should be focused on Vicksburg.
2. Keep it Positive: Find something you love and let that inspire you.
3. Be Original: Be original with your work, don’t plagiarize.
4. One Article per Participant: Each individual can submit only once. Make it count!
5. Submission Deadline: Hurry! No articles will be accepted after 6 p.m. on Nov. 15.
6. Biography: Include a few sentences about yourself and a photo for an “about the author” section so we can introduce you to the community.

Winner Announcement: Vicksburg Daily News will tally the engagement scores on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. The winner will be announced the following day.

Prize: The winner of the contest will receive $250.
