VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Vantrel Reed turned in a standout performance at the plate Sunday night for the Williamsport Crosscutters of the MLB Draft League. Reed collected four hits, continuing what has been a strong month of August.

In the month of August alone, Reed has totaled two home runs, two doubles, nine RBIs, 19 runs scored and 11 stolen bases, showcasing his all-around ability as both a hitter and baserunner.

Reed joined the Draft League after finishing his college career at LSU Shreveport, where he helped lead the Pilots to a 59-0 record and the NAIA World Series championship. He closed his senior season with a .378 batting average, five home runs and 61 RBIs.

A graduate of Warren Central High School and Hinds Community College, Reed continues to make his hometown proud with his success on the field.
