Warren Central Junior High cheerleaders excel at UCA Camp
STARKVILLE, Miss. (VDN) — The Warren Central Junior High School cheerleading team earned top honors at the UCA Cheer Camp this week on the campus of Mississippi State University.
Led by Coach Shawn Lee, the squad turned in a standout performance, receiving multiple awards throughout the multi-day camp. One of the team’s most notable achievements was winning the prestigious Leadership Award. The Lady Vikes also claimed First Place in the Camp Routine and Second Place in the Cheer Division during final day competitions.
Individually, several team members earned recognition for their exceptional skills and leadership. Tylah Caples was named Best Jumper among all junior high participants, while Mary Beckett Morgan received the Pin It Forward Award, a peer-selected honor from a UCA instructor given to a cheerleader who embodies leadership, spirit and sportsmanship.
In addition to team honors, Warren Central Junior High had a remarkable 13 cheerleaders selected to the UCA All-American Team, an honor that allows recipients to participate in special events such as holiday parades and national performances.
