WC and VHS Pulled Off Wins Over Riverside in Saturday’s Jamboree
Vicksburg, Miss.-Warren Central and Vicksburg High School both pulled off wins over Riverside High School in a jamboree match on Saturday.
WC:
The Lady Vikes quickly put the game away as they secured a 17-0 win to start the day. The three-inning shutout consisted of pitching from Emily Muirhead and KK Williamson who both struck out one batter each and allowed zero hits.
WC went up 3-0 in the first inning after Kennadi Williams and Anzley Keen(2 runs) both hit singles. The Lady Vikes brought in seven runs in the second inning as Laney Bennett and Maddy Pant(3-run) both hit doubles. Whitley Parks also smashed a double that eventually turned into an inside-the-park home run that put WC up 10-0.
The Lady Vikes drove in seven more runs in the third inning, beginning with a 3-run triple by Pant and ending with a single from Muirhead.
Pant went 2 for 3 with six RBIs while Parks finished with one hit and three RBIs. MK Ferguson, KeKe McKay, Williams( 1 RBI), Keen(2 RBIs), Laney B., and Muirhead(2 RBIs) all had one hit.
VHS:
The Missy Gators quickly put down Riverside as well in a 13-4 victory.
VHS went up 10-3 in the first inning as Shondrea Lockridge and MaKynzie Dunmore both hit 3-run triples to start the game. VHS picked up three more runs in the second inning to finish out with the win.
Avery VanNorman(1 double), Kennedy Williams, Harmony Harris, Dunmore, and Taylor Howard all went 2 for 2. Trinity McGloster, Lockridge, Camden McGloster, and Lili Kistler( double) all finished with one hit.
Harris threw a no-hitter as she struck out five batters. GameChanger was unavailable for official stats.
WC vs. VHS:
The Lady Vikes defeated the Missy Gators in game three of the jamboree. GameChanger was unavailable for official stats.
