WC took down Pearl on Saturday

Warren Central High School secured
their first victory of the season by defeating Pearl on Saturday.

The game remained scoreless until the third inning, when the Pirates managed to score two runs. It wasn’t until the fifth inning that WC responded, with Cade Fairley and Cole Autrey both driving in runs, and Maddox Lynch hitting a double to propel the Vikings
into a 3-2 lead.

In the sixth inning, solid hitting extended WC’s lead further. Lynch’s double brought in two more runs, and Lester Martin’s single added another two runs. Just before the end of the
sixth, Autrey crossed home plate due to a wild pitch, increasing WC’s lead to 8-2.Autrey and Lynch both hit doubles in the final inning, scoring the last two runs of the game.

Maddox Lynch had an impressive performance at the plate, going 3 for 4 with four RBIs(3 doubles). Ryan Nelson also contributed with two hits, while Martin (2 RBIs), Autrey (2 RBIs), Fairley (1RBI), Loper, Conner Watkins, and Nathaniel Moore each had a hit.

Moore struck out five batters in the win and Watkins struck out three.

The Vikings(1-2) will host Sumrall on Thursday.
