VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School sophomore Aden Rials, is on a mission to help her fellow teens who have financial issues get a dress for prom.

Rials said the inspiration began in the restroom.

“I was in the restroom and heard a girl on the phone with her mom. She asked her mom to get her a prom dress, and the mom said she really couldn’t afford it right now. The girl got off the phone and just started crying,” said Rials.

So the teen took action and went to social media asking for help.

“Prom is such a special moment and no one should have to miss out because of things they can’t control,” Rials said in a social media post.

Rials is also working with a teacher at WCHS, Mrs. Burrell, who holds a special closet of clothing for students who need it.

“You are not alone, and there are people who care and want to help. Please don’t be afraid or embarrassed to reach out. Everyone deserves to feel confident and included on prom night,” said Rials.

Donors can give dresses, suits or tuxedos to the school, but Rials said she can be contacted, as well, to meet people to receive the gifts.

“My parents raised me to care for others, and I have a heart to do it,” said Rials.
