WCJHS receives their football championship rings

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—Warren Central Junior High School football team received their Little 6 Championship rings on Thursday. The Vikings reaped the benefits of their 2024 undefeated season, as a banquet was held at the school just a couple of nights ago.

The young men presented themselves in business attire as Head Coach Louis Green started the program with some special words about his players. Assistant coaches Charles Swartz, Victor Tyrone, Gage Quimby, and Eric Lawson blessed the crowd with some special memories from the season.

The players along with their parents, were able to enjoy catered food just before Principal Nicholas Dotson and Athletic Director James Lewis spoke to the crowd.

Before the end of the night, the WCJHS football players were called to the stage to receive their letterman’s jackets and hoodies first. Then they got the prestigious honor of being presented with their championship rings.
The Vikings went 7-0 in 2024 where they knocked off Brandon 26-7 in the Little Six Championship Game. The season concluded with Green being named VDN’s Junior High Head Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season and quarterback Cam Zellous being selected to play in the Magnolia Sports Association Future Elit3 Eighth Grade All-Star Game.

The crew will now advance to the ninth grade football team where they will officially begin practicing in April.
