Belhaven knocks off Agnes Scott

JACKSON – The No. 14 Belhaven Softball team extended their winning streak to nine on Wednesday after picking up a doubleheader sweep over Agnes Scott. The Blazers scored 32 runs across the two wins.

Game 1: Belhaven 17, Agnes Scott 2 (5 innings)

Belhaven dominated the opener with a lopsided victory over Scotties, scoring eight runs in the first inning and never looking back. The Blazers racked up 18 hits, while Agnes Scott managed only four.

Belhaven’s offense was fueled by Ellie Jones, who drove in six runs, including an inside-the-park grand slam in the fourth inning. Jones, Anna Caime, and Colby Hollinger each led the way with three hits apiece. The pitching duo of Belle West and Macy Castleman limited Agnes Scott to just two runs.

Game 2: Belhaven 15, Agnes Scott 3 (5 innings)

Belhaven once again showcased its offensive firepower, posting a nine-run fourth inning to secure a mercy-rule victory over Agnes Scott. Ellie Jones had another standout game at the plate, going 3-for-3 and driving in four runs, while Anna Caimeand Kennedy Jones each hit home runs.

Reagan Bryan and Madi Miller each added two hits for the Blazers, who finished with 14 total in the nightcap.

Macy Funderburk earned the win in a dominant performance in the circle, striking out nine in four innings of work.
