Lady Flashes Softball Set to Open Season Friday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The St. Aloysius softball team will open its season with the Lady Flashes hitting the road to face Manchester Academy this Friday.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Mike Foley, St. Aloysius enters the 2025 campaign with high hopes, returning nearly every starter from last season’s roster.

Senior captains Madison Spencer and Ruthie Britton are expected to anchor the team once again. Both had standout seasons last year, bringing valuable experience and leadership to the program.

Britton led Warren County in home runs(3) and doubles(9) last season, while also compiling 23 RBIs and 24 hits.

Spencer, who has committed to Hinds Community College, was second in the county in hits with 29. She also posted a .426 batting average, 19 RBIs, and five doubles.

Alongside the returning veterans, the Lady Flashes boast a strong group of underclassmen, including freshman pitcher Mallory Spencer and Madelyn Kavanaugh, who made an impact at the plate last year.

Mallory and Madison Spencer, Britton, Kavanaugh, Megan Theriot, and Kennadi Blassingame were all named to the VDN All-County Team last season and are expected to be key contributors again.

Additional players expected to make significant contributions include Presley Brister and Mageigh Haller.
