Vicksburg’s Martin Trey Brown set for homecoming boxing match at the Vicksburg Convention Center
Martin Trey Brown returns home
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Vicksburg native Martin Trey Brown will return to his hometown next month to headline a boxing event against veteran fighter Cleotis Pendarvis at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
The bout, promoted by Flowers Promotions, is scheduled for July 17 and will serve as the main event of the evening.
Brown enters the fight with an undefeated 8-0 professional boxing record and has built a reputation as one of the sport’s hardest punchers. His most recent boxing appearance came in October when he defeated Manny Woods in the fourth round to claim the World National Middleweight Boxing Championship.
In addition to his success in the boxing ring, Brown has gained recognition as a bare-knuckle fighter known for finishing opponents early. In January, he defeated Bobby Taylor in the fourth round after the contest was stopped when Taylor was unable to see clearly due to the effects of Brown’s repeated punches.
Pendarvis brings extensive experience into the matchup. The veteran boxer most recently fought in May, suffering a loss to Djibril Diakite. He currently holds a professional record of 22-28-2.
Despite the recent setback, Pendarvis has earned victories over notable opponents throughout his career. His most recent win came in 2023 when he defeated Bastie Samir.
The July 17 showdown is expected to draw boxing fans from across the region as Brown returns home to compete in front of a hometown crowd.
Tickets for the event are currently available through Ticketmaster.
