VJHS crushed Germantown 38-16
Vicksburg Junior High School improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating Germantown 38-16 on Tuesday. The victory marked the first time VJHS has defeated the Mavericks.
Offensive Highlights and Key Players
The Gators’ offense has been productive through the first two games of the season, averaging 40 points per game. D’Chance Thigpen turned in another five-touchdown performance for the Gators, accounting for four scores through the air and another on defense. Thigpen connected with Cameron Pickett for two touchdowns, covering 80 and 40 yards. Sam Jackson caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Thigpen, while Kaleb Sims hauled in a 39-yard touchdown reception. Thigpen added his fifth touchdown on defense when he intercepted a pass and returned it 70 yards for a score.

Malcolm Turner led the Gators defensively with 11 tackles, including five tackles for loss. Ced’darius Blackmore recorded five tackles, while Payden Tucker added an interception in the victory. Vicksburg Junior High will travel to face Clinton Junior High next Tuesday.
