Vicksburg man charged with capital murder in Texas
A Vicksburg man, Michael Robinson, has been charged with capital murder in Texas for his alleged involvement in the shooting deaths of two women in Austin. Authorities linked him to the crime through evidence gathered at the scene.

A Vicksburg man faces a capital murder charge in Texas after authorities linked him to the shooting deaths of two Austin women.
Michael Robinson, 24, was taken into custody Friday by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the deaths of Anecia Kay Thacker, 37, and Lamonica Webb, 32.
Thacker and Webb were found shot to death Wednesday inside an apartment. Investigators initially suspected the deaths could have been the result of a murder-suicide, but evidence later led authorities to classify the case as a double homicide.
According to TCSO, the manager found the apartment door ajar and announced himself but received no response.
The manager then pushed the door open, saw a body and called 911.
Detectives and crime scene specialists obtained a search warrant and conducted a full examination of the apartment. During the investigation, authorities discovered evidence that contradicted the initial murder-suicide theory.
Investigators compared autopsy and ballistic results Thursday with evidence collected from the apartment and determined both women had been victims of homicide, according to TCSO.
As detectives continued investigating, Robinson was identified as a person of interest. Authorities determined he was likely inside the apartment when the shooting occurred.
Deputies later identified Robinson’s vehicle and residence and located him. Detectives gathered additional evidence that authorities said confirmed Robinson had been inside the apartment during the incident and linked him to the shooting.
Robinson has been charged with capital murder.
Authorities have not released a possible motive or said whether Robinson knew Thacker or Webb.
