Senior night was a truly memorable occasion as the St. Aloysius boys basketball team dominated Tallulah Academy with a crushing 62-34 victory on Senior Night.

“That was a good win but tough game to play in because it wasn’t close and it’s hard for them to stay focused but we got all our seniors some playing time and I’m happy about that,” St. Al Head Coach Walter Hallberg said. “I just want to say a special thank you to my three seniors Korey, Walker, and Ryan. They have
led this team from a three win season last year to 15 wins so far this year.”

Right from the start, the Flashes showcased their strength with a combination of relentless defense and exceptional shooting from players
such as Anthony McCloud, Korey Sims, and Walker Lambiotte. This led to an impressive 22-0 lead for St. Aloysius in the first quarter.
While the Trojans managed to find their footing in the second quarter, scoring nine points, the Flashes continued to dominate. Carson Gleese and Carter Henderson made crucial shots that extended St. Aloysius’ lead to a commanding 37-9 at halftime.

After halftime, Sims and Lambiotte continued to excel, making significant contributions from inside the paint. Although TA’s Cogmohtti accumulated the majority of his team’s points, it was not enough to stop the Flashes. The
game eventually resulted in a running clock as St. Aloysius effortlessly secured the win against the Trojans.

McCloud and Sims(10 rebounds) emerged as the top scorers for the Flashes, each finishing the night with an impressive 15 points.

“We did what we were supposed to do and went out and got the win so now we’re focused on Cathedral,” Sims said.

Lambiotte also had a strong performance, ending the game with 11 points. Gleese contributed seven points, while Carter Henderson added six. Ryan Sykes(6 rebounds) and Carson Henderson(6 rebounds) both scored four points.

Under Hallberg’s guidance, the Flashes improved their overall record to 15-10 for the year. They now look ahead to their upcoming game against Cathedral on Tuesday, where they will aim to maintain their winning streak.
