The St. Aloysius girls’ basketball team emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Tallulah Academy, securing a 42-32 win in overtime.

“This win feels really good especially since we didn’t beat them last time and we have a really young team but it felt really special to get that final win at home,” Maddy McSherry said.

The game started off with a bang as Taryn Lusby sank a 3-pointer and made a couple of free throws. Chandler Wood and Evelyn Morgan responded for TA, resulting in a tied score of 6-6 at the end of the first quarter. Megan Theriot showcased her skills in the
second quarter, executing a quick crossover and effortlessly making a layup. Emma Collins and Catheryn Oliver of TA countered with some impressive 3-pointers, pushing the Lady Trojans ahead. Lusby’s 3-pointer and a swift shot by Olivia Larsen revitalized the Lady Flashes’ game, narrowing the deficit to 17-15 by
halftime.
