G6:2 announce October date, $4k pay-out for annual rib cook-off

VICKSBURG, MS. G6:2 has announced their second annual Rib Cook-Off will be held October 19 at Silver Creek Ranch. The event promises live music, all-you-can-eat ribs, and a bouncy house for the kids.

G6:2 is a nonprofit organization which allows people with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors and hunt in a Christian environment. G6:2 is short for Galatians chapter 6, verse 2 which reads: ‘Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ’.

The rib cook-off will consist of fifteen four-person teams with prizes for first, second, and third places and a total pay-out of $4,000.

“It’s going to be a great family event. We’re going to be raising money for a great cause,” said Laura Shivers with Silver Creek Ranch.

Gates open at 12 p.m. Admission is $15, and all-you-can-eat ribs is include in the admission fee.
