High speed chase ends in crash on I-20

The pursuit of a stolen vehicle stretched across multiple counties before terminating in a crash near the Indiana exit of I-20 in Vicksburg.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace was alerted by Clinton police that they were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle at a high rate of speed. To ensure the safety of our residents and prevent a chase from moving off of the interstate, Sheriff Pace had all access ramps closed.

The multi-agency effort was a success: the suspect is in custody and no one was hurt (photo by David Day).

Before reaching the spike strips that law enforcement placed in an attempt to bring the chase to a stop, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the cable barrier at the median near the Indiana exit.
