Kayleigh Karel Dominated on Thursday for East Central CC

Vicksburg native and East Central Community College softball player Kayleigh Karel dominated in Thursday’s games against Marion Military Institute. In the doubleheader, Karel hit two doubles while going 5 for 6 at the plate, two RBIs, one stolen base and one run score.
ECC took a 4-2 loss in game one and came out on top 5-0 in game two. They will host Northwest-Shoals Community College.

Highlighted Tournaments and Key Games
The Warriors will participate in the Alabaster Invite on February 14-15 in Alabaster, AL, providing an early test against strong opponents. Another key date is February 20, when ECCC will face North Dakota State, Kirkwood, and North Dakota/Kirkwood in a tripleheader that promises to showcase the team’s depth and determination.
March will bring a series of high-stakes division games, starting with Jones College on March 8 and concluding with Coahoma in Clarksdale, MS, on March 29. These contests are crucial for postseason positioning in a competitive conference.
Final Stretch and Playoff Aspirations
As the season progresses into April, the Warriors will host several division rivals, including Hinds on April 2, Holmes on April 5, and Copiah-Lincoln on April 16. The regular season wraps up on April 26 with a road game against Northwest in Senatobia, MS.
The postseason begins with the 7-10 seed play-in games on May 2, followed by regional bracket play from May 4-6. Teams advancing will compete in the Regional Championship on May 7, aiming to reach the NJCAA National Championship from May 19-24 in Oxford, AL.
