Lady Eagles are still undefeated after beating Hillcrest on Tuesday
Porter’s Chapel Academy’s girls’ basketball team continues their undefeated streak with a 68-30 victory over Hillcrest on Tuesday.
In the first quarter, the Lady Eagles quickly established their dominance as Jae’la Smith and Sophie Masterson contributed a flurry of shots and 3-pointers, resulting in a commanding 21-4 lead. In the second quarter, young athletes Alexis Whittington and Emily
Muirhead also put points on the board, maintaining PCA’s lead.
The second half saw Masterson’s impressive shooting continue with two more 3-pointers. Smith’s strategic play kept the team on track, while Marley Bufkin made crucial contributions to help secure the victory. Smith led the team with a remarkable triple-double, tallying 25 points, 11 steals, and 10 assists. Masterson finished with 20 points and six rebounds, while Muirhead scored five
points. Bufkin added 10 points to the scoreboard, and Whittington and Lauren Madison contributed four points each.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Casey Fisher, the Lady Eagles also boast a perfect 6-0 record in district play.
Boys:
Meanwhile, in the boys’ game, PCA suffered a 66-43 loss, despite Ty Mack’s impressive 30-point performance. Jase Jung scored five
points, Gavin White added three, and Noah Porter and Taylor LaBarre finished with two points each.
The Eagles(11-4) will host River Oaks on Thursday and Prairie View Academy on Friday for Senior Night.
