Lady Vikes are the District Champions
Warren Central High School achieved a momentous feat by clinching the district championship with an impressive 7-0 victory over Columbus on Thursday.
Senior Gloria Hall showcased her talent by scoring two goals, while Melissa Herrle, Addi Keller, Jordan Polk, Mary Clell Allred, and Evella Farley each contributed with one goal. Hall and Polk also demonstrated their expertise by providing one assist each.
The Lady Vikes(14-5-1, 7-1 district) have thrived under the guidance of Head Coach Jeremy Lawrence, who has revitalized the team’s winning spirit over the past three years.
“Winning district was a goal that the girls set for themselves from day one,” Lawrence said.“I told them that was going to just be the first step. The team is very excited about winning district especially since we only have two district championships in almost 20 years. We still have to finish the job and do our best to win State.”
In light of their accomplishment, WC will proudly host a playoff game against Grenada High School on February 6.
